Reading is my hobby. While reading, I can get a lot of happiness. When I'm free, I often read some famous books. Books are my best friends that always keep me a good company. They often give me powers. Through reading, I can enlarge my eyes as well as widen my heart. Through reading, I become more and more knowledgeable.

My favorite books are Readers and VOA. Readers cover the knowledge of culture, literature, and history, so I can benefit a lot by reading it. VOA can let me know the foreign countries better. Thanks to VOA, my oral English is improving day by day.
我最喜欢的书是读者和美国之音。读者覆盖了文化，文学，历史知识，所以我可以通过阅读受益匪浅。美国之音，可以让我更好的了解国外。由于美国之音，我的英语口语日益提高了。

It can not only kill the time(打发时间), but also, more importantly, help improve my comprehension ability. When reading, I can learn a lot. Reading Shakespear’s works, I know how Hamlet looks like. Reading Socrates, I can see how great ancient Greek philosophers are. Reading Lu Xu, I come back to the old time of China.
Reading really affect my life.

My hobby is singing. It’s a great hobby! It’s fun and it makes me feel proud.
Singing can be used to relieve (解除) my fatigues (疲劳), and can help me improve my accent(腔调). Singing makes me happy when I"m sad. Singing songs can make you clever. I am always singing at home to share each other’s joys and sorrow (悲痛) in our life and to learn many songs. I really enjoy singing.

There are a great many hobbies to choose from. Some people enjoy collecting coins or stamps, others choose to spend their time on sports or music. I have many hobbies, but playing basketball is my favorite one. At weekends, we always build a team to play basketball against another one in our neighbourhood. The competitions brought us so much fun. I think playing basketball is a good way to build up one's body and relax oneself. But I will always remember that it's unwise to spend too much time playing.
